Grin Recycling Program

Please note, as of 20th September 2023, our Recycling Programme is paused.

The new 100% recycled material enables us to make great use of already recycled materials, giving them a second life as a high quality oral care product. However, we aren’t yet able to further recycle this material.

Our recycling programme is currently on hold until we can work further with our partners at all ends of the product life cycle to identify the best options for us going forward. Please note, up until now our recycling programme has only been available for New Zealand customers.

In the future, we hope to provide our customers with products that are both recycled, and recyclable – throughout our range and throughout all markets.

We are taking this as an opportunity to regroup, invest in the latest innovations, research the best solutions and work collaboratively with partners throughout our supply chain to provide a better solution to you as soon as possible.

We appreciate your support of our recycling programme thus far and promise that we’ll be back and better than ever very soon!

At Grin we have worked tirelessly to ensure that we operate in a sustainable manner. As part of this we have implemented a recycling program so that our tubes and toothbrush bristles can be recycled, and our toothbrush handles, floss dispenser, flosser handles and PLA packaging can be easily composted.

Have other branded toothpaste tubes? No worries, you can send these too!

How it works:

  1. Collect ANY 10 used Grin products. This includes empty tubes of toothpaste (other brands also accepted), Grin toothbrushes, Grin Floss or Grin Flosser 45 packs.
  2. Once you have collected 10 used Grin products (why not team up with family and friends to collect even quicker), email info@grinnatural.co.nz to receive a free postage label
  3. Post your used products and any clear 'PLA' blister packaging back to Grin and we’ll ensure they are either recycled into useful goods such as bench seats and watering cans or commercially composted!
Each time you send back 10 tubes, brushes, floss dispensers, flosser packs (with all the empty handles), we'll return the favour and send you a $5.00 voucher to go towards your next order from our website!

    Important:

Toothpaste Tubes and Bristles: In order to recycle tubes and bristles properly, please make sure all excess product has been removed (i.e. toothpaste) and bristles are removed from the toothbrush (bristles can be pulled out with pliers or snap off the brush head). Additionally, please ensure your tubes and bristles are completely dry prior to shipping. We cannot recycle dripping items.

Dental Floss: Only the floss dispenser and clear packaging are biodegradable. The floss ribbon should be disposed of in your rubbish bin.

Dental Flossers: The handles on both the adults and kids flossers are biodegradable. Before sending them back for commercial composting, please remove the floss ribbon from handles – this can be pulled out with pliers, and then place handles back into the flosser container.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Recycling Program is currently only available to New Zealand based customers. If you’re located outside of NZ, please refer to your local recycling and commercial compost facilities for best disposal options.
